Hello, Wexford! I want to let you know of a change to the mailbox that has been approved for the neighborhood. For clarification in this email, “Mailbox” refers to the mailbox, pole, numbers, or other pieces of the complete system. Over the years, we have seen too many of the “Pineapple” mailboxes broken from accidental or intentional acts and a lot more that are just not holding up as they should. This style mailbox is not easily repaired, and any damage usually results in the need for complete replacement. The decision to move forward should not simply be labeled a “Vanity Project”; we have selected a model that is stylish, modular, and strong. Individual pieces can be replaced instead of the entire system when needed. This should help all of us going forward.
If you have a “Pineapple” mailbox, you will not be required, at this time, to purchase a new system unless you desire or your existing mailbox is in poor shape. If you have a legacy wood mailbox, there will be a set timeline for replacement, several years in the future, so you can plan. Additionally, if you have a mailbox that is not from our past approved vendor (which was listed on our website) or one that is in poor shape, you will be asked to replace your system with the updated system within a certain timeframe. Again, let me be clear, we are not requiring anyone to get rid of your mailbox unless it is poor shape or it was not the approved system from our approved vendor. In the future, a few years off, we would like to sunset the old wood mailboxes and we will ask that you replace them within in a certain time in the future.
The new company is Addresses of Distinction and special pricing is being offered, based on when your order is placed:
$437 plus taxes until June 18
$467 plus taxes until September 19
$497 plus taxes after that, going forward, subject to normal increases.
